Since the outset of his career as a candidate attorney in 1977, Leon Slotow quite literally built the liquor licence industry in South Africa. Over the next 35 + years, Leon developed a reputation in the country as the expert in liquor law advice to a clientbase that included franchises like Woolworths, Sun International, Spur, News Café, Pick n Pay and Picardi Rebel among others.
Since the sad passing of Leon in June 2021, Leon’s daughter Nadine Meyerowitz has picked up the mantle and continued perpetuating and building Leon‘s legacy. We know that he would be extremely proud of her.
Today, Leon Slotow Associates applies for, transfers, renews and alters both retail and wholesale liquor licences in South Africa using the same processes and adhering to the same quality standards that Leon did. It’s thanks to the path that Leon forged that Leon Slotow Associates is proud to say it can also boast the same positive outcomes for its liquor licence clientele that Leon achieved.
LSA operates primarily in Gauteng, providing professional liquor licence consultant advice on the new Gauteng Liquor Act (Act 2 of 2003). These services are also available in other regions where the existing National Liquor Act remains in effect.
